Your guide to the Dolomites
Hotel Trenker is in South Tyrol, Italy's northernmost province, in the Braies Valley, a side valley of the Pusteria Valley. Less than a mile from Lake Braies.
Getting there by car:
Via the Brenner motorway:
Take the Bressanone exit and turn off into the Pusteria Valley.
Via Belluno and Cortina:
via the A27 motorway at Belluno and Ponte nelle Alpi then on the road to Cortina and Dobbiaco; then turn left into the Pusteria Valley.
Via the Passo di Monte Croce di Comelico:
via the A23 and E55 motorway, turn off at Tolmezzo, continue via Comelico, Passo di Monte Croce di Comelico and Sesto as far as San Candido; turn left there and turn into the Pusteria Valley.
Via Lienz:
turn into the Pusteria Valley and follow the road.
The last few kilometres
Driving through the Pusteria Valley from the west:
at the Monguelfo roundabout, take the first exit in the direction of Dobbiaco, go through the tunnel and after 2 km turn right into the subway into the Braies Valley. Follow the road towards Lake Braies, travel half a kilometre on from the church in San Vito. And you'll find us on the right hand side of the road.
Driving through the Pusteria Valley from the east:
from Dobbiaco follow the road through the 5 tunnels of the Villabassa bypass and then continue for another 2 km. Then turn left into the subway into the Braies Valley. Follow the road towards Lake Braies, travel half a kilometre on from the church in San Vito. And you'll find us on the right hand side of the road.
